Tute: Building A Betfair Application Using Microsofts FREE Visual Studio Express 2013

    Hi all.

Back on the old forum and old API, there was a great tutorial with step by step instructions on how to build a simple Betfair app using Microsofts FREE Visual Studio Express.

With the new API coming out, a lot of us who did build simple Betfair apps, no longer can use them

I am as much in the dark about how to begin with the new API and I am sure others are and I hope that this thread can bring back 'a new beginners tutorial' on how to build a simple Betfair app using Microsofts FREE Visual Studio Community 2013.

This is the download link: http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9863608

If others who have experience with this product and the new API can contribute in a step by step manner to help educate others in the new API that would be great.

I am hoping to initially get step by step instructions to do the following:

    1. Create a Form and then input the code to connect to the UK or AU API, and login successfully via the form. Also be able to logout.

    2. Input code and button to get account balance showing on the form

    3. Input code and buttons to list todays horse races or soccer games or greyhound race etc with the id for each event

    4. Input code and button & text fields to paste the id and bring up the details of that event including runners

I am sure this is a good start and we can build on from here like we did in the old begginers tutorial on the old forum

Thank you in advance to those that can contribute

I suggest that you use Visual Studio Community Edition instead of Express. This is a full featured version of Visual studio available to non-enterprise developers.
