Issue on betting in ordinary odd (ie 3.4) and have it matched with odd 1000

    Hi,

I have several controls in my automatic process that prevent betting on markets with odd 1000 because it means it won't happen anymore. However I have placed a Back bet on correct score of an Australian Soccer game with odd 3.4 and it has been matched with odd 1000. Looking at the match history and the time of my bet placing, a goal has been scored pretty close of it, and I believe a "better" odd of 1000 replaced my original one.

I would like to know if it has happened with someone else and what Betfair can do to help preventing it from happening, since it couldn't be avoided through any other automatic control.

    Bet: Betfair Bet ID 1:208778420468 | Placed: 19-Aug-20 08:16:55.

    Thanks!

Betfair will always give you better prices if there's any available. But I'm puzzled. Why would you object to having part of your back bet matched at odds that high? I can think of several million Betfair users who would be delighted to get their back bets matched at 1000.

I don't know what you mean by "prevent betting on markets with odd 1000 because it means it won't happen anymore".

It’s known as best price execution, surprised you have only just been affected by it, you can turn it off at the account level:

I can think of a few reason why you would it off

I totally agree that any order matched (or any offer present) with odds 1000 will only happen when the particular market/odds cannot be won anymore and it is really annoying that I have to turn this feature off because of this bug. This is really a bug. The system should not allow matching bets on odds 1000, however it is nice to have a 3.4 odds matches at 3.5.
In my experience the highest possible winning odds are 500.

I am using the LimitOrder class from the com.jbetfairng sample package with java... any of you know if there is another way to say specify an upper limit for odds matched? That way I could enable back the Best Price Execution.
