Available to bet balance - lay and back same selection

Hi,

About to hit go on my first exchange bot.. However a quick question I need answering before I get going.

In order for me to adequately fund my account; I'd like to understand whether Betfair re-calculates your market exposure if you lay and then back the same selection? (and no other selections in that market)

i.e. will the back bet reduce your overall exposure in that market? Effectively freeing up funds available to bet in other markets with..

Or are they treated as two separate bets until settlement?

They will net the effect of the unmatched bets. ex: if you back 10€ at 2.00 and then lay 20€ euros on the same selection at 1.30 they will freeze you only 10€ (the highest liability)
