Hi, I have just received an offer to trial an automatic BOT that specialises in boxed Trifectas and seemingly TOTE bets where you don't just have to specify one horse coming 1st and 2nd in a Forecast but one horse to win, and then 4+ horses that COULD come 2nd. From his bet slips it seems that a number of forecast bets are made working out which horses from this group will come 2nd and making X number of bets.
However I didn't think you could use the API to place TOTE bets or am I wrong?
I can imagine with the "group" of horses to come 2nd it is picking the likely horses from the market to be in the top 2 and placing X number of forecast or reverse forecast bets ensuring that any probable outcome from a 1st & 2nd out of the group covers the stakes of all the other bets it places. However I know Forecast and Reverse Forecast markets are not always available.
Are there certain classes of race that these F/RF markets would be available for e.g Group/Listed/Grade races, and not lower Group 6 "bookie" races etc, or what logic does Betfair use to decide when to show F/RF markets to bet on. I can imagine the math and would love a challenge to code something similar but if there aren't enough F/RF markets each day then it would only a be a few races. So I am wondering when F/RF markets are available to bet on with the API?
