How to detect when a football match is in the first half, second half or half time?

Is there a way to use the API to detect when a football match is in the first half, half time, or in the 2nd half?

Second bot reads not only match score and time, but match details as well so, cards, scored goals and of course which half is played/match status.

Is that done using Betfair API calls? Or does the match info come from another API?
