Running the Java Streaming API Sample Code on a Fresh Ubuntu Build?

Hi,

Are there any instructions on how to run the Java Streaming API sample code on a fresh Ubuntu machine?

I am getting a lot of errors when I try to run it on a newly built Virtual Box.
