USA Horse races. Why do they not turn in-play?

    Hello there,

I am still fairly new at this. I am newly experimenting with inplay trading.

I have found that the MarketBook.IsInPlay field/data returned by ListMarketBook never seems to turn in play (or if it does takes more than 10 minutes)...whereas for both Australian, UK and Ireland racing it usually turns inplay after 3 or 4 minutes past the suspecd time.

Can anyone tell me why that might be so?

(It just occurred to me right now that perhaps it was not legal in the US to bet inplay. Could that be the case?)

Thank you kindly for any thoughts
    John

I think the start times for US racing are an estimate, sometimes they go before the start time and sometimes after.
In the UK and Ireland they never go before a start time, if they did the race would be void.

Sorry for slow response. I didn't realise I had a reply. Thank you letsgo. I suspect you are correct, however I cannot 100% confirm. I have since niched down and focusing on only specific avenues in Australia now. Thank you kindly for your response.
