Free API/API-NG in a free android app?

    Hi,

tl;dr I'm not sure what the definition of commercial is? Is it anything that is made public, or would it have to involve making a profit? What if I gave my app away for free?

I am thinking of writing a small android app that would allow users to check their current bets, very quickly.

As I wouldn't charge anyone for this, I don't want to pay betfair any fees for using their API, as I would be out of pocket for no possible gain.

I wouldn't have adverts in the app so there would be no way I would make any money, so I was wondering if it is possible to use the free api or the API-NG without paying betfair? I see that if it is commercial I would need a licence or something, but if I gave it away for free, would this constitute being commercial?

    Thanks

    Russ

I would suggest you send your question directly to the Betfair Developer Program team at bdp@betfair.com as you are likely to get a faster response.
