    Web based bot

    Hi all,

I was hoping for someone's help on the following question.
Would it be possible to have a fully web-based Betfair bot, (I guess written in javascript) with bot calculations being done on 'clients' side.

That is. A person goes to a specific web page, logs in, enters desired criterias and with a click, bot running in the background does the calculations and places a bet at that specific moment.

It all looks great in my head, but I have no idea if it even technically possible. Haven't seen anything like that currently on the market.

    Anyone?

    Thanks,
    Greg

My bot is web-based. I open browser, go to the "secret" URL and see what is there.

Bot works on VPS in London, so it has good Betfair connectivity. Connectivity with browser is not much important.

I meant for commercial use. Users login, see basic layout, few clicks and the backend logic places the bet on their behave. The goal is to have all of the logic and calculations performed on clients PC without them downloading\installing anything.

      Is that a possiblity?

        Yes.

Anything is possible. But you need to provide more info on what's in your head -- the devil is in the detail.

Your questions, and the way you express them, show that you have very limited understanding of the technology and mechanisms behind your vision.

Please don't take that as a criticism. None of what you need to learn/understand is rocket science, but I think your next step is to get what's in your head on to paper in your own words and then partner with someone who can build it for you.

If you are looking at it as a commercial web application where you will charge your customers for the service, you will need to satisfy BF on security matters, etc., and look at the commercial access licensing costs.

You probably know all this, anyway.

What I think you are asking for is totally possible and any half-decent developer or development org will be able to satisfy your vision. Unless you do it yourself (which I doubt you have the skills and understanding to do at the moment - again, not a criticism), you will need be prepared to pay for this.

        Hope this helps a little.
