    Best Price Execution

There's now a setting on the website to disable/enable best price execution. Is this a global setting, or is there a way to select this per-bet with the API?

    Hi MrMagoo,

This is a global setting and is only available via the Betfair website (& to customers based in the UK).

The requirement has been added to the API development backlog for prioritisation.

    Thanks

      Hi MrMagoo,

Further to the above, the underlying tech would enable us to lapse a bet if best execution would give more than a X% increase in price at account/bet level.

For example, you might be happy to accept a price of 10.5 in-running if you've requested 10.0 but not 1000 (as this suggests the horse has fallen).

Would appreciate any comments regarding the value of offering such a feature.

      Thanks

      Neil

I can certainly see value in that especially if a min/max price can be set, good luck implementing that!

The % increase is an interesting idea! It might be clearer to implement it as a specified odds threshold, rather than as a percentage, though. It would be helpful in many sports in-play betting.

Being able to select best execution on a per-bet basis (or per-placeOrder call) would be important, for me at least. Most times I'm happy to get an increased price, but there are lots of situations where an unexpectedly-matched bet is a bad sign!

Also, for the API, I think it would be useful if the bet placement would have a separate response code if the logic was triggered, instead of just reporting that the bet has lapsed.

          Thanks!

i think instead of increasing % you should increment by a specific value. this may be better for your betting part quordle
