How delayed is delayed app key?

In the documentation it says the delayed app key should be used for all development/testing. Therefore I have some questions about what effect the delayed app key has.

    1. In what way are the results delayed? Do they just reflect what would have retrieved from the exchange X minutes ago? Or maybe they aren't updated as frequently?
    2. How long is the delay? Is it consistent or does it change unpredictably?
    3. Does the delay affect all requests or just certain ones (e.g. price values)?
    4. I know bets cannot be placed with the delayed app key, but is any information not available which would be with a live key?

    Thanks for the help

      Hi Cinnamon,

Results are delayed on a variable basis between 1 - 60 seconds across all sports types.

      2. How long is the delay? Is it consistent or does it change unpredictably?
1-60 seconds and this changes unpredictably.

      3. Does the delay affect all requests or just certain ones (e.g. price values)?
The delay affects the information returned by listMarketBook, specifically price values.

      4. I know bets cannot be placed with the delayed app key, but is any information not available which would be with a live key?
Yes, traded volume data isn't available with the delayed App Key.

      Kind Regards

      Neil

        Thanks for the help!

Another question: I want to be able to see traded volume data but I am not at a stage where I comfortable betting (want to get used to the markets a bit more).
What sort of usage would be considered fair for the non-delayed app key? I am aware that some people have had their live app keys delayed due to using it inappropriately but it isn't clear to me what this means. How long/frequently would I have to use live app key without betting before it also got delayed? Would it help if I only used it for short periods of time..?

Or is there some other way of getting traded volume data from the API with the delayed app key?

        Thanks

          Hi Cinnamon,

          Sorry for the delay.

If you use the live key for testing over short periods of time and a limited number of markets this would be fine.

          Thanks
