Neil, this api method does not return relevant information in many cases. Please watch the following video where you can see that for the race there is no signal for: UNDERORDERS event, “The horses are loaded into the stalls, race is about to start.”Originally posted by Betfair Developers Program View PostHi Vic,

Basically there are two options for using this api method in betfair api apps. Similar like in my video the api method can be used for traders manually trading on horse racing markets, app could notify traders that a race is about to start, so it is time to close bet positions for those who do not trade at in-play.
The second option and actually more suitable one, is to use this api method in those automated solutions running on in-play only. In many such solutions many bot users evaluates prices just before a race is about to start, or couple minutes ago, with betfair starting prices.
The race shown in my video is a good example because the race officially started 4 minutes and 41 seconds after official race start time.
The race status api method could help to minimize the amount of data retrieved from betfair servers, but it must offer all relevant race status events, mainly UNDERORDERS event. In current api state for many races such information is missing, so api apps could not rely on this api method.
It would be a good idea to add this api method to your stream technology, actually you could start with this api method.betfair bot platform, bfexplorer bot sdk

Hi Stefan.
We have investigated this issue and believe that this only occurs with Irish races.
Please can you confirm if you've experienced/logged the same issue for UK based races?
Thanks
Neil

If you want a slightly different approach I today posted some VB that I am using to call for the cashout available in the same way Betfair pages do it.
