I just noticed that some issues have been marked as fixed on 9 April:

Is there anywhere in this forum or otherwise that Betfair keep us informed of updates to the new API. Or announcements of when new features are scheduled for?

Really pleased with the new API but there seems little in the way of updates from Betfair.

The new API comes slowly, the bugfix release is good but not of much interest. I need at least betting and login, until then I am about relax and enjoy

Great stuff. Likewise AlgoTrader, the JSON API was so easy to code too that I am now eagerly awaiting the ability to place bets with it.

Really pleased to see the market filter issue fixed in the latest release.

Do you have an idea of when we will have the ability to see only "real" prices, i.e. without the virtual cross-matched volumes shown in the available prices?

We expect this functionality (a toggle for virtual prices) to be available by the end of May.
