matched amounts

I'm confused about what happens if a bet is only partially matched. I assume that when accessing betSnapshot with a status of "MATCHED" it will return the <size> element containing the amount of the bet that was matched, and not the amount that was wagered. Is this correct? If not how do I know how much was matched?
