Betfair Exchange - Change of Minimum Stake to £1 - from 7th February 2022

Please be aware that from the 7^thFebruary, the minimum bet size on the Betfair Exchange will be reduced from £2 (GBP) to £1 (GBP). The Currency Parameters (https://docs.developer.betfair.com/d...encyParameters) table will be updated to reflect this.

The decision to make this change was based on customer feedback on ways we could improve our Exchange experience.

The changes made for "Retrospective - API Release To Prevent Minimum Bet Abuse" had an impact on stakes that were less than £2. I believe stakes between £1.26 and £1.59 cannot be currently placed at price 1.01 because of those changes. Will this still be the case?

As the Minimum Bet has changed one could argue that those bets above the minimum should no longer be blocked. However, I understand why they were blocked as some users must have been taking advantage of the rounding. If they are still to be blocked then developers need to be aware that if their program previously did not except any bet below £2, then changing to £1 could result in errors.

Yes, we can confirm that this will be still the case. Any bets placed at those stakes at 1.01 will be blocked,

Can you clarify what the UK minimum stake limits are now for SP Bets ? Does this change for non SP bets also affect SP bets ?

Hi Geoff.

Yes, the min SP back stake is now £1. The min BSP liability is still £10.
